Idealism, realism or futurism. What say ye?
Idealism : behavior or thought based on a
conception of things as they should be, or as
one would wish them to be, with a tendency to
be imaginary or visionary.
Realism: behavior or thought based on a
conception of things as they are, regardless of
how one wants them to be, with a tendency to
be practical and pragmatic.
Futurism: behavior or thought based on a conception of things in the future in order to help people understand, anticipate, prepare for and gain advantage from coming changes.
These thought protocols are not exclusively independent. However, the key is knowing how to strategically acquire and actualise these viewpoint with strategic advantage in mind.
Everything doesn’t work exactly as the books say. Life throws in some variables the completely change the outcome of things. You must be prepared for these surprises when they come. This however should not cause you to move so far away from your vision and aspirations. You need to learn to be flexibly strong.
When you think from the future, you must hold today in your hands to see what changes are necessary to sustain the picture of the future you’ve captured. Then you must cross the expectations with how things should be.
While all these are happening, don’t be so future minded that you forget to enjoy the moment.
Today is all you’ve got! Make the most of it. Create good memories you’ll want to remember or be remembered for tomorrow.
That’s how to use realistic, idealistic and futuristic concepts.
